Do you want to know something silly? You have just described one of the exact things I do when "confronted" by one of your posts here.

The most common reason I find myself surfing around the internet is for that distraction you describe. To take myself out of the moment, and be mind-less. And then, in my wandering, I discover that Marian has created something new for me to read, and there's a tiny part of me that reacts with fear. "But I just wanted to watch a YouTube video, look at my webcomics, and read a bad joke! I don't wanna be forced to think introspectively and analyze my reasons for doing things. No! Waaaaaahhhhhh!!"

Seriously.

But always - ALL WAYS - at the end, like now, I find myself back in the moment and relieved and thankful to be.

You're awesome sauce.

Hi Si... thank you, as always. I think we're in a situation a little like the one before people understood that maybe a diet of junkfood wasn't the best thing for a person. A mental diet of diversion... and so on.

Yeah, there are times when I have to sweet-talk myself into going downstairs for a workout, but I ALWAYS feel way better when I do. This is the exact same sort of thing. Fight the diversions.

Or, better yet, acknowledge that they are diversions and then decide consciously what would be in my own best interest.
